A Kiss in the Rain. Lovers under an umbrella outside of Central Park. Upper East Side, New York City.
I used to shy away from capturing people in my photos of New York City until very recently. I think the turning point occurred around the time that took this photo. I had just started to take photos of events and parades (you can view some of my parade photography here) in order to test my chops with regards to capturing movement. As someone who primarily deals with landscapes and cityscapes, the world of street photography is foreign to me but I suppose that is what makes it so exciting. You can’t learn and grow if you never step outside of your comfort zone.
I started to do versions of my photos with different matted backgrounds and text in addition to more typical photography posters and prints. I have included the different (customizable) versions in the little message below. A few people requested prints and posters that were more like traditional ‘travel posters’ and so the new ‘New York City Travel Poster’ section of my store has been launched. I still have a lot to add to it but that too is a work in progress :).
